The group is encouraged to use their wealth of lifetime experiences to write creatively.
The members have been creative in other directions too and have now published a book entitled Beyond Words. It contains a collection of fiction stories, funny happenings, articles and poems, compiled to mirror the breadth of talents within the group.
At our first meeting in June, via Zoom, we had a total of five members, and one apology, due to a staycation.
As it was our initial meeting, I had suggested that as an icebreaker, each member of the group told us a little about themselves, covering the following topics
- Their experience in writing.
- If they had any of their writing published.
- What they hoped to learn from the group.
- What they hoped to give to the group.
- Which book genres was their preferred choice.
We then decided to continue having our Zoom meetings through July and August, and if anyone went on holiday, they would be informed of what had happened at the meeting they had missed, and if there was an assignment for them to do for the next meeting, if they chose.
The assignment for the next meeting on Monday, July 12th July 11:00 – 12:00 is a free choice.
